This Kato As-Built EMD F40PH diesel is based on locomotives used for hauling passenger trains across the continent from the 1970s into the 21st Century. Features of this as-delivered version include the original nose profile (no cutouts for ditch lights), a five-pole motor with dual flywheels, all-wheel electrical pickup, heavy die cast metal chassis, fine decoration, directional LED headlights and Kato magnetic knuckle couplers. This locomotive has a factory-installed sound and DCC decoder for use on DCC layouts. It’s a perfect unit for hauling your railroad’s Amtrak, Via and commuter passenger trains.
